PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Morahito Mitsumoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ridell Corner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitsumoshi comes to the cage accompanied by Pistolero by Juno Reactor. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Morahito Mitsumoshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ridell Corner!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitsumoshi shoots for a takedown but Corner saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mitsumoshi fails with an attempt to clinch.

Corner shoots in and gets a takedown into Mitsumoshi's guard.
Corner wants to stand but Mitsumoshi has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Corner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Corner pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mitsumoshi is keeping the position for now.

Mitsumoshi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Corner is aware though and is defending well.
Mitsumoshi pulls Corner in close to prevent any damage.
Mitsumoshi keeping moving, preventing Corner from controlling successfully.
Corner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mitsumoshi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ridell Corner.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Corner breaks the clinch.

Corner closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Corner prevents Mitsumoshi from improving his position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mitsumoshi pulls Corner in close to his closed guard and prevents Corner from doing any damage or advancing position.

Corner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Mitsumoshi is trying to hold Corner in close to prevent damage but Corner has managed to pass into half guard.

Mitsumoshi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Mitsumoshi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Corner can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mitsumoshi has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Corner has passed into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ridell Corner will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Corner shoots in and gets a takedown into Mitsumoshi's guard.
Corner is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Corner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Corner trying to control but Mitsumoshi is working from the bottom.
Corner might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mitsumoshi haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Corner tries to free his leg and advance position but Mitsumoshi is retaining full guard.
Mitsumoshi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ridell Corner was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Corner closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mitsumoshi to the mat! Mitsumoshi manages to get full guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mitsumoshi is on top in guard.
Corner throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Corner working for submissions but it's allowed Mitsumoshi to get to half guard.

Corner is looking for a sweep. Mitsumoshi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Mitsumoshi wants to take a breather but Corner is having none of it.
Mitsumoshi wants to pass the guard but Corner is defending well.
Corner tries to get to full guard but Mitsumoshi has control of the leg.
Mitsumoshi is thwarting Corner's attempts to control the position.

Mitsumoshi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Corner defends it well.

Corner regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Mitsumoshi.
Mitsumoshi is looking to work some ground and pound but Corner has wrist control.
Corner wants to sweep here but Mitsumoshi controlling him for the moment.
Mitsumoshi pushes down on Corner's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Mitsumoshi wants to pass the guard but Corner is defending well.

Mitsumoshi throwing shots but Corner is blocking nicely.
Corner trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Mitsumoshi manages to pass to mount!

Corner is wriggling around trying to escape.

A close second round but Ridell Corner will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Corner tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mitsumoshi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mitsumoshi shoots for a double leg takedown but Corner sprawls well. He's pushed Mitsumoshi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mitsumoshi tries to keep at a distance but Corner has taken the fight into the clinch.
Corner dodges an elbow strike from Mitsumoshi.
Corner slows down the pace here.

Corner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Corner goes for a double leg but Mitsumoshi avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mitsumoshi continues to drive forward.
Corner throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mitsumoshi is fighting off a takedown attempt but Corner is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mitsumoshi to the mat. Mitsumoshi regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Mitsumoshi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Corner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Corner tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Mitsumoshi unloads with some shots from mount but Corner bucks and avoids them well.
Mitsumoshi throwing strikes here but Corner is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Morahito Mitsumoshi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Corner holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Mitsumoshi tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The referee warns Corner that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Poor strikes thrown by Mitsumoshi there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Corner is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mitsumoshi sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Corner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mitsumoshi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mitsumoshi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Corner is looking to escape.
Mitsumoshi throws a wild left hand from mount and Corner manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.

Corner is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mitsumoshi pulls his head out easily.

Mitsumoshi throws a strike but Corner avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Mitsumoshi passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Mitsumoshi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mitsumoshi looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Corner is avoiding damage well.
Mitsumoshi postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

And that's the end of the fight!
Morahito Mitsumoshi showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Corner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
