Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riel Dan Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vincent Hunter!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Riel Dan Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Hunter's corner calls for a 1-2. Hunter obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Hunter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Reyes moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Hunter smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
A swing and a miss from Hunter.
Hunter lands a nice hook to Reyes's body. Reyes takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Reyes keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Hunter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Reyes.

We've been hearing reports that Hunter has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Vincent Hunter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Reyes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Hunter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Reyes takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hunter tries to land a front kick but Reyes steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Reyes closes the distance and clinches up with Hunter, looking for a takedown. Reyes pushes Hunter against the cage but Hunter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Reyes shoots for a double leg takedown but Hunter sprawls well. He's pushed Reyes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Reyes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hunter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Reyes might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hunter haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Reyes working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vincent Hunter will probably get the nod.

Reyes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hunter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Reyes has managed to get both his arms back between Hunter's legs - danger averted.

Hunter has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Reyes is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hunter.

I think Reyes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
