Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Borthol Grynworst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hardcore Junior I (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Junior I is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: - Fast Lane ft. Eminem, Royce Da 5'9 . Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Borthol Grynworst!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hardcore Junior I!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grynworst misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Junior I.
Junior I misses with a takedown attempt - Grynworst sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Junior I fails to land the takedown.
Junior I shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Grynworst as he jumps to the side.
Borthol Grynworst has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hardcore Junior I.

Grynworst gets caught napping as Junior I dives in and scores a takedown. Grynworst manages to retain guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Junior I throws a big elbow that misses.
Junior I postures up.
Junior I trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Junior I works over Grynworst with some ground and pound from guard.
Grynworst is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Junior I distracts Grynworst with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Junior I postures up and lands a big shot to Grynworst's brow.
Grynworst is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Grynworst is really struggling to control Junior I but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Junior I stopping the sweep attempt from Grynworst.
Grynworst keeping full guard, as Junior I tries to pass.
Junior I works over Grynworst with some ground and pound from guard.
Junior I trying to control but Grynworst is working from the bottom.

Junior I trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Grynworst working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Junior I.
Grynworst seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Junior I postures up.
Junior I looking to pass the guard.
Junior I landing with the ground and pound.
Junior I passes Grynworst's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Grynworst moves into full guard.
Junior I wants to pass the guard but Grynworst is keeping the position.
Junior I working some strikes from top position.
Junior I loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Junior I looking to sit in guard and control but Grynworst gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Junior I controls Grynworst momentarily but Grynworst frees himself.

Junior I is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Grynworst is aware though and is defending well.
Grynworst trying to control the position from guard on top but Junior I is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Junior I has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Grynworst is in close to Junior I's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Junior I working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Grynworst doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Grynworst manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Grynworst advances position into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Junior I is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Grynworst's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Junior I has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Grynworst is working away from the top position though.

Junior I looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grynworst thows a huge punch but Junior I dodges it nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Grynworst wants to pass to mount but Junior I is defending the position.

Grynworst seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hardcore Junior I dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Junior I has managed to clinch.
Junior I is trying to pull guard but Grynworst turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Junior I breaks the clinch.
Junior I shoots in for a takedown but Grynworst shows good takedown defense.
Junior I tries for a takedown but Grynworst sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Junior I has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Grynworst is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Borthol Grynworst has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hardcore Junior I.
Grynworst fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Junior I manages to avoid it.
Junior I takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Junior I takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Junior I closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Grynworst scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Junior I doesn't seem bothered though.
Grynworst is looking to wear down Junior I with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Grynworst tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Junior I was well out of range. Poor timing from Grynworst.
Grynworst scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Junior I tries for a takedown but Grynworst sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Junior I misses with a takedown attempt
letting Grynworst counter with a right hand.
Junior I is breathing heavily.
Grynworst thows a body shot but no joy.
Junior I looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Junior I shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Grynworst counters with a nice uppercut.
Junior I avoids the body shot from Grynworst.
Grynworst stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Grynworst wants it to stay on the feet.
Junior I with a lazy takedown attempt
and Grynworst counters with a left and a right... And another left! Junior I is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Borthol Grynworst!

Borthol Grynworst was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
