Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez with a lazy takedown attempt
enabling Roman to counter with a crisp jab.
Roman connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gonzalez's hands.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Gonzalez.
Gonzalez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Roman's waist but Roman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gonzalez off to one side.
We've been informed that Roman has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Roman tries to clinch but Gonzalez moves out of range.

Gonzalez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Gonzalez is working for a submission of some sort.

Gonzalez wants to work for an arm triangle but Roman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Roman is looking for a sweep. Gonzalez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gonzalez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Roman defends it well.

Gonzalez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Roman doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gonzalez.
Gonzalez is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Roman reverses the position - he's now on top in Gonzalez's guard.

Gonzalez is looking to cinch up a triangle. Roman throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gonzalez's body to avoid the submission. Gonzalez has instead reached around Roman's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gonzalez arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
