PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alessandro Pittana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Wain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wain has chosen Bring the Noise as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wain uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pittana.
Pittana will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Pittana throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Wain counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Wain working some strikes from top position.
Pittana has momentary wrist control but Wain slips an elbow through the middle.
Wain controls from within his opponent's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wain accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Pittana wants to stand up but Wain is controlling him.
Wain sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pittana's guard.
Pittana is trying to stand up here but Wain is controlling him well.
Wain content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wain is pressing down on Pittana's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pittana is holding on for now.
Pittana is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Wain scores with a couple of nice shots.
