Lumsden has chosen Eye of the Tiger as his entrance music. Thomas Lumsden has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Maksim Veremko's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Veremko misses with a double jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lumsden looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Veremko clinches.
Veremko using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lumsden has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Veremko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lumsden tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Veremko misses with a wild combination.

Veremko gets a clinch.

Veremko manages to break the clinch.
Veremko circles away from the clinch attempt.

Veremko closes the distance and pushes Lumsden back into the cage.

Veremko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Veremko throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Veremko avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Veremko instigates a clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lumsden.

Veremko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Veremko pushes Lumsden up against the cage in a clinch.

Veremko pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lumsden tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sloppy strikes from Veremko. Those never looked like landing.
Veremko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Veremko closes the distance and clinches.

Lumsden fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lumsden tries to clinch there but Veremko circles away.

Veremko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Veremko throws a big shot that misses.
Lumsden swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lumsden closes the distance but Veremko moves to the side

and Veremko counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lumsden won't be happy with that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Veremko is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Lumsden sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Lumsden wants to get back to his feet.

Veremko performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Veremko has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Veremko can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lumsden is looking to escape.

Veremko has control of Lumsden's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lumsden regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Veremko has hold of Lumsden's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lumsden manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lumsden is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Veremko quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Veremko but it's paid off an Lumsden is forced to tap! Nice work by Veremko.
