The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soprano lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Adams moves to clinch but Soprano breaks away
and Adams takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Soprano displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Adams.

Adams has Soprano up against the cage in a clinch.
Adams jumps guard but Soprano stands there with Adams around his waist. Adams gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Soprano is trying to break the clinch but Adams is controlling him.
Adams wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Soprano gets underhooks to prevent Adams's takedown attempt.

Soprano moves in looking to clinch but Adams pushes him off.

Soprano is trying to force a seperation but Adams has the dominant position.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Soprano has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
The referee calls for Soprano to work.
Adams wants a takedown but no success here.
Adams looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Soprano tries to break the clinch but Adams is controlling the position.

Soprano's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Adams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Soprano lands a left and a right that send Adams crashing to the mat, dazed. Soprano thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Mike Adams has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Soprano wants to clinch

and Adams counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Adams.
Oh Adams is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Soprano gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Soprano is trying to drag Adams to the mat but Adams just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Adams wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Soprano ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Soprano no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Soprano uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
No joy there for Soprano, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Soprano throws a nice looking combination but Adams bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Soprano throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Adams shoots for a double leg takedown but Soprano sprawls well. He's pushed Adams's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Adams feints and as Soprano raises his hands in defense, Adams changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Adams seems to have got his legs back now.

Soprano drops Adams with a beautiful combination! Adams stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Soprano is looking for the KO!

Soprano closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Soprano postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Adams to stand up.
Soprano tries to close the distance and clinch but Adams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Adams tries to clinch but Soprano is having none of it.
Soprano plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Adams swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Adams face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
