Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
32 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abe Goldman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Vincent Bird!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bird misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A bone on bone clash there as Goldman blocks the leg kick.
Bird has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Goldman is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Bird tries to clinch up.
Bird throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Goldman counters with a stiff right hand.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Goldman.
A cross from Goldman lands.
A telegraphed right hand from Goldman misses the target.
A punch combination from Bird misses.
Nice defenses there by Bird.
Goldman stalks Bird and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bird's face. Bird staggers backwards, shaken.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Goldman swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Goldman avoids the head kick by Bird.
Goldman bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Bird's head backwards.
Bird is rocked!
Bird thumps Goldman with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A shot to the liver by Goldman. Beautiful body shot.
Bird shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Bird is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bird fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bird takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Goldman thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bird throws a head kick that Goldman semi-blocks.
Bird slips under a jab from Goldman.
Bird staying out of range there.
Goldman throws a jab when Bird was well out of range.
Goldman is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Goldman with a nice cross.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Goldman lands a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Goldman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Goldman lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Bird goes down and covers up as Goldman starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Abe Goldman!
