Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leer fails with a takedown attempt.
Leer moves into range and clinches up with Jelani.

Leer is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Main Event Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jelani postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leer trying to keep a closed guard but Jelani is proving a slippery customer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mike Leer.
Jelani tries to sprawl but Leer drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Leer wants to control but Jelani is keeping him busy.

Jelani is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Leer pulls his head out easily.

Leer is taking a breather. Jelani says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Mike Leer has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

and Jelani counters with a nice double leg into side control. Leer won't be happy with that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jelani tries to advance to mount but can't.
Leer manages to work his way to half guard, despite Jelani's best efforts.

Jelani looks up at the clock and then as Leer takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jelani smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Leer avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Jelani.
Jelani throws an elbow but Leer slips to the side and avoids it well.
Leer tries to buck Jelani off but Jelani is having none of it.

Jelani advances to full mount.
Leer is bucking up trying to escape but Jelani cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jelani cracks Leer with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
