Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Galt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Valet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valet has chosen The Drift - Blackmill as his entrance music. Terry Valet will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Terry Valet!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galt swings for the body but Valet moves out of range.
Galt throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Valet throws a one two combo.

Valet closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Galt quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Galt is not content to let Valet control the position.
Galt moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Galt has control of Valet's left arm, preventing Valet from doing any damage.
Galt tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Galt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Galt stuffs the takedown attempt from Valet. Valet gets slowly back to his feet.

Valet tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Galt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Valet misses with a takedown attempt - Galt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

John Galt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terry Valet.

Valet gets a double leg takedown into Galt's guard.

Galt is trying to control the position but Valet postures up.

Galt wants to hold on but Valet pushes him away.

Galt is looking to improve his position but Valet isn't that keen on the idea.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Galt bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Terry Valet will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Galt takes a swing at Valet's ribcage but misses.
Galt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Valet has his takedown stuffed

and Galt counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Valet!
Galt scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Valet to see if he's OK.

Galt working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Valet tries to kick Galt off but Galt keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Valet is breathing heavily.
Galt is looking to take a break and control but Valet is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Galt uses his free foot to push down on Valet's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Valet.
Valet is still in real trouble! Can Galt finish him?
Galt lands a heavy elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Galt lands a big shot to the head and Valet winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). John Galt!
A relieved looking John Galt thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
