The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor closes the distance and clinches up with Gilmour, looking for a takedown. Taylor pushes Gilmour against the cage but Gilmour circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Taylor misses with a wild combination.

Taylor closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Taylor lands in his opponent's guard.
Gilmour is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Taylor lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Gilmour down.
Taylor cracks Gilmour with a big right hand but Gilmour just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Taylor wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gilmour, who protects the arm well.

Taylor has hold of Gilmour's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Gilmour tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Taylor cranks the arm and Gilmour screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Gilmour, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
