Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stevo Poullin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver Queen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stevo Poullin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oliver Queen!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Queen darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Queen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Poullin moves away.

Queen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Queen stops Poullin from getting back to his feet.
Queen thows a huge punch but Poullin dodges it nicely.
Queen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Queen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Queen cracks Poullin with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Queen swings for the body but Poullin moves out of range.
Queen is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Queen lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Oliver Queen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Queen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Poullin throws a push kick but Queen slaps the foot to one side.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Oliver Queen hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Poullin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Queen sprawls well. Queen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Poullin gets slowly back to his feet.

Queen jabs Poullin right on the nose. Poullin blinks but takes it well.
No joy there for Queen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Queen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Poullin momentarily.
Poullin is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Queen shoots in looking for a takedown. Poullin tries to sprawl out of it but Queen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Poullin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Stevo Poullin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oliver Queen.

Queen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Queen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Poullin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Queen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Oliver Queen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Queen is pulling down on Poullin's head. It's preventing any offense from Poullin, at least for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Oliver Queen wasn't active enough on the ground.

Queen stuffs the takedown attempt from Poullin. Poullin gets slowly back to his feet.
Queen lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Queen might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stevo Poullin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Oliver Queen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Queen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
