Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alistair Shore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Witaliy Michilov!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shore has managed to clinch.
Shore has Michilov pressed against the cage.
I was talking to Shore's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Shore prevents a takedown attempt there.

Shore with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Witaliy Michilov has been cut.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Alistair Shore.

Shore has closed the distance and engaged Michilov in a clinch.
Shore holding his opponent close, against the cage.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Shore for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
Shore is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Shore gets underhooks to prevent Michilov's takedown attempt.
Shore has Michilov pushed against the cage.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Alistair Shore.
Shore throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Michilov gets tackled into the cage by Shore. Shore maintains the clinch.

Michilov tries to score a body lock takedown but Shore shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Shore is looking to control Michilov's arms but Michilov gets an underhook and turns him. Now Shore has his back to the cage.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Alistair Shore.

Shore has managed to clinch.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Shore wants to clinch but Michilov slips to the side

and Michilov counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Shore!

Michilov working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Michilov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shore knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Michilov looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Shore's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Michilov is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Shore has escaped the position, nice work there.

Michilov goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Shore has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Michilov but great work by Shore.
Michilov is looking to regain half guard here but Shore keeps moving and retains side control.
Michilov has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Michilov wants to control but Shore postures up.

Michilov tries to bench press Shore off him but Shore keeps the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Shore darts in and clinches Michilov up against the cage.

Michilov wants a takedown.
Shore misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Shore is stalling here.
Michilov drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Michilov has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Shore after a bit of a struggle.
Alistair Shore has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Witaliy Michilov.

Shore displaying some good clinch control by pressing Michilov up against the cage.
Shore is pressed up against the cage. Michilov has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Shore down to the mat. Shore avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Shore tries to clinch but Michilov moves out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close second round but Witaliy Michilov will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's time! Shore's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Shore forces Michilov back against the cage and clinches.
Shore wants to stall.

Shore bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Michilov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Shore connects with a high kick.

Michilov moves out of range of the body kick.
Michilov drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Shore pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Michilov blocks a jab.
Alistair Shore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shore has taken the fight to the clinch.

Michilov turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Michilov manages to end up in side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Michilov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shore is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Michilov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Michilov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shore knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Shore manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Shore trying to control from the bottom.
Shore tries to get to full guard but Michilov has control of the leg.

Michilov is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Michilov is trying to work for a kimura but Shore is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shore trying to hold on to Michilov's head to control him but Michilov postures up.
Shore slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Michilov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shore looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shore looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shore!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Shore decides to stand back up. Shore steps back and let's Michilov get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alistair Shore showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Shore has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
