PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Lyons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donald Duff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Lyons might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Kvelertak- Kvelertak. On his way into the cage it seems that Jack Lyons has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jack Lyons seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lyons thows a body shot but no joy.
Duff takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Duff gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Duff has Lyons pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lyons manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Lyons throws an elbow but it misses.
Lyons pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Lyons has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Duff uses from the top position.

Lyons is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Duff postures up in Lyons's guard and throws a big left but Lyons blocks it.
Duff stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lyons swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Duff works over Lyons with some ground and pound from guard.

Duff distracts Lyons with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Lyons is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Duff is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Duff pushes down on Lyons's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Duff lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Duff connects with a nice short shot to Lyons's temple.
Duff is looking to take a break and control but Lyons is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Duff lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Duff wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lyons keeps working.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lyons has hold of Duff's hands but Duff slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lyons is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Duff takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Lyons is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Duff working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Oh Lyons is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Duff working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Duff is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Lyons is hurt! He's hurt bad - Duff fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Lyons from any more punishment! Congratulations to Duff! Great finish!

A less than humble Donald Duff misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
