The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salazar scores with a nice head shot.
Salazar tries to clinch there but Borba circles away.
Borba takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Borba is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Salazar throws a good cross that connects.
A looping hook to the body misses from Borba. Salazar does a little dance to reset his feet.
Salazar catches Borba with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Salazar thuds a left hand into Borba's body.

Borba throws a head kick that misses.
Borba tries to move into range but Salazar moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Salazar closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Borba shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Borba lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Borba stands up out of the half guard.
Borba takes one to the side of the head.
Salazar scores with a hook.
No joy there for Salazar, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Salazar circles away from the clinch attempt.
Salazar throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Borba stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Borba darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Salazar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Borba seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Borba tries to stand but can't do so whilst Salazar controls his leg.

Borba tries to stand and escape but Salazar is controlling the position.
Borba works his way into side control.
Salazar takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Borba moves into full mount!

Borba postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Salazar looks a forlorn figure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Salazar wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Borba has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Borba is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
