Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Bolo Yeong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiang Shi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jiang Shi is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bolo Yeong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jiang Shi!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yeong connects with a single shot there.
Shi misses with a body kick.
Shi misses with a head kick.
Shi looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Yeong scores with a nice right hand.
Yeong throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A head kick misses from Shi.
Yeong tries to clinch up.
Yeong tries to close the distance and clinch but Shi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yeong.
Bolo Yeong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slapping leg kick lands for Shi.
Yeong connects with a right hand. Shi shakes it off.
A decent looking cross lands there for Shi.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Some bone on bone action there as Yeong checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Shi looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Yeong throws the left hand but Shi avoids the punch easily.

Yeong pulls out of a head kick attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Yeong looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Yeong fails in his attempt to clinch.

Yeong moves into the clinch.
Yeong looks to throw an elbow but misses.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Yeong.
Shi has a couple of punches blocked by Yeong.
Shi throws a knee to the head but misses.
Shi is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Shi on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Still in the clinch, Yeong scores with a nice short uppercut.
Yeong swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Shi's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Yeong has Shi pushed against the ropes.
Shi tries a knee to the head but Yeong blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Shi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Yeong moves to clinch but Shi breaks away
and Shi counters with a low kick, right behind Yeong 's knee.
Yeong connects with a solid leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Shi throws a head kick that misses.
Shi gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Yeong.
The fight stays on the outside here - Yeong looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Yeong rushes Shi and presses him up against the ropes.
Shi prevents a body shot from Yeong.
Shi wants to break the clinch but can't.

Shi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Yeong fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shi throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Yeong's head.
Yeong is looking to clinch.
Yeong is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yeong throws a sloppy head kick
and Shi counters with a series of strikes. Yeong will be more careful next time no doubt.
Yeong fails in his attempt to clinch.
Shi drops his hands momentarily and Yeong takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Yeong moves in looking to clinch but Shi pushes him off.
Shi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Yeong blocks a low kick nicely.
Yeong cracks Shi with a good jab.
Yeong takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Yeong tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shi swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Yeong looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Shi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Shi lands a head kick!


It looks like Bolo Yeong has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Yeong tries to close the distance and clinch but Shi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Yeong throws a right hand that misses
and Shi counters with an outside leg kick.
A big left from Yeong misses.
Shi uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Yeong.
Shi with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Yeong to score with a decent uppercut.
Yeong connects with a looping right hand.
Yeong fails in his attempt to clinch.
Shi moves away from the strike by Yeong.
Yeong scores with a jab.
Shi slips under a jab.
Shi is looking to land body kicks.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Yeong throws a shot from downtown. Shi moves away and avoids it.
Yeong is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Yeong tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Yeong pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bolo Yeong will probably get the nod.

That's time! Back to the action!


Shi scores with a kick to the midsection.
Yeong misses with a head kick.
Shi throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Yeong misses with a left hand
and Shi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Shi slips under a jab.
Yeong tries to close the distance and clinch but Shi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shi scores with a sloppy right hand. Yeong should have avoided that one.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Yeong on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Shi. Shi obviously looking to wear him down.
Yeong is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Yeong throws a head kick but Shi moves out of range.
Yeong tries to clinch but Shi moves away
and Shi counters with a straight right hand.
Shi looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yeong tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shi looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Shi backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Yeong's temple! It sends Yeong violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Shi celebrates and the doctors try to help Yeong!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Jiang Shi!
