Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Claudio Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez darts in trying to clinch

and McGordon counters with a shoot takedown. Sanchez fights it but they end up in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
McGordon lands a couple of digs.
McGordon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Sanchez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sanchez trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Sanchez is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Sanchez working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McGordon.
Sanchez looking to hit a scissor sweep but McGordon is one step ahead there.
This has been an exciting period of action!

McGordon distracts Sanchez with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Sanchez keeping moving, preventing McGordon from controlling successfully.
McGordon is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McGordon postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sanchez can do anything to dispel that myth.
McGordon not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Sanchez has his foot on McGordon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McGordon works his way back into a safe position though.
McGordon slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Sanchez is trying to control the position but McGordon postures up.

Sanchez wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and McGordon is now in half guard.
Sanchez wants to control but McGordon is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McGordon looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

McGordon wants to work for an arm triangle but Sanchez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Sanchez is refusing to be controlled, as McGordon sits in half guard.
McGordon landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

McGordon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
McGordon content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

McGordon seems to be working for a kimura but Sanchez defends the submission attempt.
Sanchez wants to control but McGordon is keeping busy.
Sanchez tries to get to full guard but McGordon has control of the leg.
McGordon keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
McGordon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. McGordon lands a nice short elbow.
McGordon passes to full mount!
McGordon connects with a bit shot that sees Sanchez covering up! More strikes from McGordon and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! McGordon is our winner by TKO!
