Rudy comes to the cage accompanied by Kick In The Door. James is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Tuesday's Gone. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy James!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Rudy there.

James moves into the clinch.
James is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rudy pulls him back up using the underhooks.
James tries to score a body lock takedown but Rudy shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Rudy wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but James has him pressed against the cage.
James is looking to take this one to the mat.
Donovan Rudy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tommy James.

James's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
James lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rudy's sensitive parts.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

James is looking to work some ground and pound but Rudy has wrist control.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as James accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rudy is staying active underneath James, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

It looks like Donovan Rudy has been cut.

Donovan Rudy's cut is getting worse.
James scoring with strikes but Rudy is staying in there.
James loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Rudy scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from James land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. James stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tommy James!
Tommy James made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'I want to thank all you fans for coming out tonight, Kaiser and Backyard Fighting for helping me look so good, my team at Hey Steve's Fight Shack, all of my loved ones back home and Corwin Anstey for letting me fight here in the CEFC!!
