PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cacper Mendak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edwin Tetenbaum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Edwin Tetenbaum was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cacper Mendak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Edwin Tetenbaum!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendak misses with a takedown attempt

and Tetenbaum counters with a single leg into guard. Mendak didn't expect that.

Mendak is looking for a sweep. Tetenbaum is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Tetenbaum looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Mendak is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tetenbaum's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tetenbaum's back!

Mendak has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Tetenbaum has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Mendak is looking to control Tetenbaum but Tetenbaum is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Mendak is looking for a rear naked choke here but Tetenbaum reverses the position brilliantly into Mendak's guard!

Tetenbaum got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mendak has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tetenbaum has managed to get both his arms back between Mendak's legs - danger averted.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's time! Mendak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Tetenbaum closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mendak did well to prevent Tetenbaum getting side control.

Tetenbaum controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Mendak working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tetenbaum doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tetenbaum manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Mendak isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Tetenbaum stacks Mendak on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Tetenbaum!

That was a close second round but I would say that Cacper Mendak will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Tetenbaum has taken the fight to the clinch.
Tetenbaum gets underhooks to prevent Mendak's takedown attempt.

Tetenbaum has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Mendak clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Mendak tries to escape but Tetenbaum has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Tetenbaum has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Mendak.
Mendak wants to escape the position.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Mendak is in bad spot here.
Cacper Mendak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Tetenbaum is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
I really don't envy Mendak right now.

Tetenbaum has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Mendak's body.

What can Mendak do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

I would just about give that final round to Edwin Tetenbaum.
