Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Phil Chip (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Horton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Phil Chip!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Horton!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chip looking to score a takedown here. Horton is defending well but Chip drives through and ends up in Horton's guard.
Horton looking to control.
Horton utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Chip won't allow Horton to get back to his feet.

Jake Horton has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Chip swats away the attempt to clinch by Horton.

Chip fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Horton sprawls well initially but Chip persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Chip is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Horton wants to get back to his feet.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Chip content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Phil Chip wasn't doing enough on the ground.

and Chip counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Chip.

Chip gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Chip throws an elbow that misses. Horton uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Chip's guard. Nice move by Horton!

Chip is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Horton controls Chip momentarily but Chip frees himself.

Chip breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Chip counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Chip.

Horton throws an elbow that misses. Chip uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Horton's guard. Nice move by Chip!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chip throws a strike but Horton rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Horton closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Chip did well to prevent Horton getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Horton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chip has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Horton has managed to get both his arms back between Chip's legs - danger averted.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Chip throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Horton was covering up waiting for the punch and Chip finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Chip closes the distance and pushes Horton back into the cage.
Chip keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Horton's efforts to push away.
Horton throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Chips head.

Chip breaks the clinch.
Chip misses with a double jab
and Horton counters with a stiff right hand.
Chip connects with a high kick.
Horton throws a jab but it's blocked by Chip.

Horton darts in looking for a takedown but Chip gets double underhooks and turns Horton into the cage.
Horton misses with the head strike.

Chip has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Horton clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Chip is throwing strikes by Horton counters by rolling into a better position. After a scramble, Horton regains half guard.
Horton trying to control but Chip postures up.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jake Horton was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Horton throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Chip on the side of the head.
Chip bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Horton has his takedown stuffed

and Chip counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Phil Chip has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Horton.
Chip wants to pass the guard but Horton is keeping the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Phil Chip wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
