The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald tries to clinch up.

Nolan McDonald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boyle misses with a takedown attempt - McDonald sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

McDonald walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Boyle checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and McDonald counters with a head kick. That will keep Boyle thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
McDonald throws a combination. Boyle tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to David Boyle.
