Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mashiba Ryou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leonardo Valdes!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryou with a hook.
Ryou lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Leonardo Valdes has been cut.
Valdes should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Valdes showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ryou.
Ryou throws a right and a left that both miss.
Valdes is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ryou sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ryou tries to bum rush Valdes with a series of wild strikes but Valdes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Valdes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ryou as he jumps to the side.
The crowd cheers as Ryou lands an impressive looking overhand right. Valdes doesn't seem phased though.
Valdes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Valdes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ryou wants to control but Valdes postures up.
Ryou is looking for a sweep.
Valdes decides to stand back up. Valdes steps back and let's Ryou get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ryou slips a jab and a cross from Valdes.
Ryou swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Valdes counters with a shoot takedown. Ryou fights it but they end up in guard.
Ryou knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Valdes on the ground.
Valdes looks winded!

Valdes prevents Ryou from getting back to his feet.
Ryou is wriggling around but Valdes manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Valdes decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Valdes has eaten all the pies!
Valdes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ryou.
Valdes shoots in and drives through. Ryou sprawls well.
Mashiba Ryou has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leonardo Valdes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ryou throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Valdes.
Ryou misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Valdes drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ryou throws his legs up looking for a submission but Valdes uses it to pass to side control.
Ryou is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Ryou on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Valdes cracks Ryou with a big elbow.
Valdes lands a decent elbow from side control.
Valdes has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ryou is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Valdes yanks on the arm and Ryou is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Valdes.
