The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Damon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kingsley swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Kingsley counters with a right hand to the body.

The fight stays on the outside here - Damon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Dirk Damon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Damon is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Damon tries to clinch but Kingsley is having none of it.
Damon tries to move into range but Kingsley moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
It looks like Dirk Damon has been cut.
Damon wants to clinch up but Kingsley keeps it at a distance.

and Kingsley counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kingsley connects with a right hand. Damon shakes it off.
Damon darts in and clinches Kingsley up against the cage.
Kingsley is trying to maintain a safe position but Damon gets an underhook and turns Kingsley into the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kingsley on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Kingsley blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Damon tries to land knees in the clinch but Kingsley avoids the damage to the body.
Damon is pressed up against the cage. Kingsley has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Damon down to the mat. Damon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Kingsley gets the takedown into side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Damon is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kingsley asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Damon gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

BOOM! Kingsley connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That has opened up Dirk Damon's cut even more.
Kingsley lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Damon is still in real trouble! Can Kingsley finish him?
The cut above Dirk Damon's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kingsley tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kingsley cracks Damon with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Kingsley!
James Kingsley was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
