Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Omar Morte!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morte shoots in and drives through. Carlson sprawls well.
Carlson lands a nice shot to the body.
Carlson misses with a series of wild punches.
Morte fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Morte.
Wade Carlson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Omar Morte.

Carlson throws the kick towards the body but Morte avoids it.

and Morte counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Morte tries to pass to full mount but Carlson defends it.

Morte stands up out of the half guard.
Morte throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Carlson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Morte is on top in guard.

Morte would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Morte wants to control from the top but Carlson keeps moving.
Morte is looking to stand up but Carlson won't let him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Morte is on top in guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Morte thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Morte trying to control the position from guard on top but Carlson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Morte postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Carlson wants to sweep here but Morte controlling him for the moment.
Morte is working Carlson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Morte stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carlson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Morte advances to half guard.
Morte is tying to control. Carlson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Morte works his way into full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carlson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Morte avoids the attempt from Carlson to control.
Morte working the ground and pound effectively.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Morte working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Morte misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Morte scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Morte is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Carlson is bucking up trying to escape but Morte cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Carlson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Carlson looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Carlson trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Carlson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Morte is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Carlson rolls, trying to escape but Morte keeps control of the position.

Carlson avoids the strikes from Morte.
Morte throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Carlson won't enjoy being in this position. Morte looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Carlson is tapping - it's over boys! Morte picks up the submission victory!
