PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Veikko Rastila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaques Du Coudray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rastila comes to the cage accompanied by One Hit. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Du Coudray changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Du Coudray fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rastila has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Du Coudray steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Rastila. That one must have hurt.
A head kick by Rastila misses
and Du Coudray counters with a nice body kick.

Rastila is breathing heavily.
Du Coudray dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Rastila misses the jab.
Du Coudray moves out of range of the body kick from Rastila.
Rastila shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

It looks like Veikko Rastila has been cut.
Du Coudray throws a head kick but Rastila moves out of range.
Du Coudray throws an overhand right that lands on Rastila's shoulder, as Rastila tries to avoid the shot.
Du Coudray lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Rastila at a distance.
Du Coudray jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Du Coudray listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Du Coudray throws a quick inside leg kick.
Du Coudray lands with a good body shot.
Du Coudray looks for the body kick but Rastila saw that one coming.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Du Coudray digs a good hook to Rastila's body.
Rastila takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Du Coudray tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rastila throws a push kick but Du Coudray slaps the foot to one side.

Du Coudray lands a big head kick that sends Rastila tumbling to the mat! Du Coudray takes a step backwards and waves Rastila back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Rastila is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Du Coudray cracks Rastila on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Rastila falls backwards against the cage. Du Coudray follows up with more strikes that drop Rastila to his knees. Du Coudray keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Rastila! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jaques Du Coudray!
Jaques Du Coudray is the new heavyweight champion!
After the fight, Jaques Du Coudray was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
