The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evans has Young up against the cage in a clinch.

Evans escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Evans looks to land a combination but Young avoids it well.
Evans fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Young has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Young shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Evans tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Evans is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Young pulls his head out easily.
Young wants to stand but Evans has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Young drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Evans dives on top into guard.

Young had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Evans defends it easily.

Young has his foot on Evans's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Evans works his way back into a safe position though.

Evans wants to lay and pray for a moment but Young keeps working.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Evans counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Young's guard now.

Young is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Evans is aware though and is defending well.

Evans drops back, looking for a kneebar! Young looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Young looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Young!
