Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Katsuji Rikidozan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Yackey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yackey comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ante Up kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Katsuji Rikidozan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Yackey!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Rikidozan lands an impressive looking overhand right. Yackey doesn't seem phased though.
Yackey throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Yackey shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Rikidozan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Yackey looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Rikidozan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Yackey throws a head kick that Rikidozan semi-blocks.


It looks like Katsuji Rikidozan has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yackey pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Yackey throws the kick towards the body but Rikidozan avoids it.
Yackey tries to land a body kick
and Rikidozan counters with a stiff right hand.
Rikidozan misses with a head kick.
Rikidozan moves out of range of the body kick from Yackey.
Yackey showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rikidozan.
Rikidozan throws a hook to the side of Yackey's head but Yackey sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rikidozan connects with a nice looking jab.

Yackey throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Yackey misses with a body kick.
Rikidozan waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Yackey.
Rikidozan cracks the inside of Yackey's front leg.
Yackey lands a body shot.
Yackey throws a body kick that misses.
Rikidozan attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Yackey tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Yackey slips under a jab from Rikidozan.
Rikidozan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Yackey momentarily.
Rikidozan avoids a kick to the body.
A clash of legs there as Rikidozan blocks the low kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A solid leg kick lands there for Yackey.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Yackey throws a sloppy head kick and Rikidozan moves out of range easily.
Rikidozan lands a leg kick that knocks Yackey off balance momentarily.
Yackey looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Yackey's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rikidozan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Yackey scrambles back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Yackey is defended easily by Rikidozan.
Yackey wants to clinch
and Rikidozan counters with a leg kick.
Yackey misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Yackey throws a head kick but Rikidozan moves out of range.
Rikidozan cracks the inside of Yackey's front leg.
Rikidozan throws a looping overhand right but Yackey ducks down to avoid it.

Rikidozan tries to keep at a distance but Yackey has taken the fight into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Yackey tries to break the clinch but Rikidozan is controlling the position.
Yackey wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rikidozan has him pressed against the cage.
Rikidozan lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Rikidozan softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Rikidozan throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Yackeys head.
A left hand lands to the body for Rikidozan.
Yackey lands an elbow inside.

Rikidozan breaks from the clinch.
Rikidozan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Yackey tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Yackey fails to land the takedown.
Katsuji Rikidozan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Yackey throws a lazy right hand but Rikidozan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Yackey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rikidozan manages to avoid it.
Rikidozan fakes the leg kick and cracks Yackey in the body.
Yackey looks winded!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rikidozan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Yackey.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Yackey tries to work over Rikidozan's front leg with a kick but Rikidozan checks it.
Rikidozan lands with an uppercut that bounces Yackey off the cage and back into range.
Yackey avoids the head kick by Rikidozan.
Rikidozan's jab looks to have found its range, popping Yackey under the eye.
Rikidozan throws a head kick that misses.
Yackey shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rikidozan defends it nicely.
Katsuji Rikidozan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Yackey.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Rikidozan lands a big head kick that sends Yackey tumbling to the mat! Rikidozan takes a step backwards and waves Yackey back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Yackey is rocked!


It looks like Jimmy Yackey has been cut.
Yackey misses with a wild combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Katsuji Rikidozan dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Rikidozan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


A low kick from Yackey misses
and Rikidozan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Yackey shoots for a double leg takedown but Rikidozan sprawls well. He's pushed Yackey's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Yackey wants to clinch but Rikidozan slips to the side
and Rikidozan counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Yackey looks to clinch
and Rikidozan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rikidozan lands with a right that hurts Yackey. Yackey looks to clinch but Rikidozan throws a short knee that drops Yackey. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Katsuji Rikidozan!
