The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Novak fails to land with a series of punches.
Novak misses with a double jab
and Thurman counters with a takedown into side control.
Novak is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thurman has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Novak is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Thurman yanks on the arm and Novak is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Thurman.

A very excited looking Harry Thurman rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
