The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dougerson fails with a takedown attempt.
Nijhoff takes a kick to the side of the head.
Dougerson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Nijhoff misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Nijhoff shoots in but no luck this time.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Dougerson.
Dougerson slaps away a takedown attempt from Nijhoff, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Nijhoff won't allow Dougerson to get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dougerson wants to stand but Nijhoff is controlling the position.

Nijhoff gets to his feet and stands over Dougerson, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Dougerson felt that one! Nijhoff unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Dougerson from any more punishment!
