Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Masahiko Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aran Schmeck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kimura comes to the ring accompanied by Kiyoshi Yoshida - Spirit. Masahiko Kimura could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Aran Schmeck's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Masahiko Kimura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aran Schmeck!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kimura dives in and scores a takedown into Schmeck's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Kimura stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Schmeck swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kimura is working hard here to advance position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Masahiko Kimura.
Schmeck misses with a takedown attempt - Kimura sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Kimura closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kimura stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Schmeck swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Schmeck throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Kimura escapes and throws Schmeck's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Schmeck is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kimura's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Schmeck is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kimura's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kimura's back!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Schmeck is persistently looking for the submission but Kimura is defending it well.

Schmeck has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Kimura controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Schmeck doesn't have the hooks in and Kimura manages to turn into his guard.
Kimura pushes down on Schmeck's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kimura has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Schmeck is trying to escape the mount.
Kimura is stalling here but it's allowed Schmeck to get half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kimura content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Schmeck actively working from the bottom here.
Kimura seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Schmeck does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Schmeck makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Schmeck.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Schmeck pulls Kimura in close to his closed guard and prevents Kimura from doing any damage or advancing position.

Kimura postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Schmeck is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kimura, into his guard.

Kimura keeping moving, preventing Schmeck from controlling successfully.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Schmeck seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Aran Schmeck wasn't active enough on the ground.
Schmeck tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kimura sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Schmeck somewhat.
Kimura stuffs the takedown attempt from Schmeck. Schmeck gets slowly back to his feet.
Masahiko Kimura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aran Schmeck.
Schmeck shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kimura changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Schmeck looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kimura works to advance to full mount. Schmeck defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Kimura prevents Schmeck from getting the reversal.

Kimura fails to advance to Schmeck's back.
Schmeck working to try and regain half guard.
Kimura wants to control the pace but Schmeck is squirming around nicely.
Schmeck tries to hold on but Kimura pushes him away.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Schmeck is trying to escape the mount.
Kimura can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Schmeck is looking to escape.
Kimura is really struggling to control Schmeck but he's trying to hold on to the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kimura prevents Schmeck from getting the reversal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Masahiko Kimura will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Schmeck shoots for a double leg takedown but Kimura sprawls well. He's pushed Schmeck's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Schmeck has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kimura can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Schmeck quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Kimura has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Schmeck celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
