The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Perez enables Lombard to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Perez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Perez is trying to keep Lombard in close.
Lombard trying to control the position from guard on top but Perez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lombard passes into half guard.
Lombard is looking to take a break and control but Perez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Perez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lombard takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perez is pressing down on Lombard's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Perez is on top in guard.

Perez is looking to work some ground and pound but Lombard has wrist control.
Perez throws a big elbow that misses.
Perez throws a strike but Lombard rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Perez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lombard!
Lombard manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Perez is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Perez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Perez cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
