The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hogsback looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Calevra is fending him off so far but Hogsback persists. Nope, Calevra circles away and we're back to standing.
Slevin Calevra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Calevra moves into the clinch successfully.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Calevra takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Calevra escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hogsback shoots in looking for a takedown. Calevra tries to sprawl out of it but Hogsback keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Calevra manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Calevra fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hogsback has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Calevra dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hogsback. That did some damage!
Calevra throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hogsback.
Calevra throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hogsback's head.
Calevra throws a right hand that Hogsback ducks under and follows up with a left that Hogsback also avoids with ease.

Calevra throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Hogsback tries to score a power double leg takedown but Calevra sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hogsback somewhat.

Calevra lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hogsback backs up against the cage.
Hogsback takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Calevra throws a right and a left that both miss.

Hogsback gets tackled into the cage by Calevra. Calevra maintains the clinch.
Hogsback has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Calevra avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Calevra tries to bum rush Hogsback with a series of wild strikes but Hogsback uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Calevra drives through and clinches with Hogsback against the cage.
Hogsback has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Calevra is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hogsback is trying desperately to land a takedown but Calevra is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Hogsback.

Calevra scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
