Optiplex misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mao rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Optiplex counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Optiplex throws an ugly left hook that misses

so Mao counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Optiplex utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Optiplex working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Mao.
Mao slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mao controls the position.
Optiplex really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mao. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
