PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tero Elo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lars Voller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elo shoots in for a takedown but Voller shows good takedown defense.
Voller changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Elo shoots in but Voller avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Elo slips a jab and a cross from Voller.
Elo looks to land a right hand but Voller moved out of range.
Elo has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tero Elo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Voller displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Elo.
Elo fails with a takedown attempt.
Elo shoots in for a takedown but Voller shows good takedown defense.

Voller lands with a thumping leg kick.
Voller misses with a body kick.
Voller connects with a body shot that sends Elo's belly button to the back.
Elo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Elo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Voller avoids it really well and circles away.
Elo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Voller.
Elo shoots in for a double leg but Voller sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Voller leaves Elo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Voller throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Elo.

It looks like Tero Elo has been cut.

Elo feints and as Voller raises his hands in defense, Elo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Voller is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Elo wants to control from the top but Voller keeps moving.
Elo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Elo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Voller's guard.
Voller is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Elo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Voller has managed to free his arm - good work.

Elo wants to work for an arm triangle but Voller is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Elo is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Voller is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
