Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nik Reeder!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michael tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reeder swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Reeder gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Michael wants to get back to his feet.
Reeder is thwarting Michael's attempts to control the position.
Michael is trying to stand back up but Reeder is controlling him
Michael really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Reeder wants to work for an arm triangle but Michael is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Michael has hold of Reeder's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Reeder manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Michael can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Reeder is looking to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Michael fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reeder manages to avoid it.

The referee asks Michael politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Michael prefers to stall for the moment though.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Michael cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Michael takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Michael throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Reeder has his hands clasped together but Michael breaks the hold and Reeder is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Michael!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jason Michael!
In defeat, Nik Reeder stepped up to the mic, saying 'I would like to thank the fans. Without the fans, I'd be nothing.'.
