The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins slips a jab from Tavares.
A low kick from Tavares is predictable there

and Jenkins counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jenkins.
Tavares looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Jenkins tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Jenkins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tavares connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jenkins's hands.
Jenkins scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Tavares misses with a left hand
and Jenkins counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jenkins misses with a few strikes there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jenkins is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Tavares lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Tavares bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jenkins's head.

It looks like Roderick Jenkins has been cut.
Jenkins looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Tavares throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jenkins takes one to the side of the head.
Jenkins takes a swing at Tavares's ribcage but misses.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Tavares.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tavares throws a solid leg kick but Jenkins takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Tavares.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jenkins. Tavares does a little dance to reset his feet.
Tavares tries to land a front kick but Jenkins steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Tavares lands a left and a right that send Jenkins crashing to the mat, dazed. Tavares thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Jenkins misses with a leg kick
and Tavares comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Jenkins stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Tavares is on him like rabid pit bull! Jenkins slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!

A relieved looking Thiago Tavares thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
