PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trey Diesel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Mma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jonny Mma was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mma cracks Diesel with a right hand to the side of the head.
Diesel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mma was well out of range. Poor timing from Diesel.
Mma works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Diesel avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Mma throws a push kick but Diesel slaps the foot to one side.
Mma will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Diesel shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Diesel swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mma throws a good cross that connects.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Mma gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Diesel to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Diesel seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mma for as long as he can get away with.

Mma tries to sprawl but Diesel drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Diesel perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Mma is trying to maintain the position but Diesel is very close to passing his half guard.
Diesel is controlling the pace.
Diesel has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Mma wants to stand and escape but Diesel is having none of it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Diesel lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Trey Diesel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Diesel slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
