The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dao misses with a takedown attempt

and Jimmo counters with a single leg into guard. Dao didn't expect that.
Dao tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jimmo controlling from the top position.

Dao throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Jimmo has eaten all the pies!

Jimmo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dao swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. James Jimmo wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Jimmo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Igor Dao has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dao dives in and grabs Jimmo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jimmo pushes down on Dao's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igor Dao. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dao is breathing heavily.
Jimmo wants to clinch up but Dao keeps it at a distance.

Dao is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.

Jimmo fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Jimmo lands a big shot there that rocks Dao but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Jimmo is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Dao is surviving well by controlling Jimmo's body position as best he can.

Dao tries to reverse the position but Jimmo maintains control.
Jimmo lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Jimmo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Dao is desperately trying to improve his position but Jimmo has a good base and remains in mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jimmo lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Jimmo wants to control the pace but Dao is squirming around nicely.
Jimmo is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

Jimmo has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Dao is forced to tap!
