Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Carter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Freeman swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Freeman throws out a loose jab but Carter uses good head movement to avoid it.
Carter is looking to clinch but Freeman is avoiding it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Freeman is fighting off a takedown attempt but Carter is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Freeman to the mat. Freeman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Carter wants to stand but Freeman is controlling his posture from full guard.

Carter is trying to stall.
Carter jumps guard but Freeman stands there with Carter around his waist. Carter gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Carter has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Freeman is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Freeman misses with a hook to the ribs.
Carter is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Freeman pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Freeman controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Carter is looking to stand up but Freeman isn't so interested in that idea.
Freeman tries to free his leg and advance position but Carter is retaining full guard.

That's time! Carter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Freeman counters by moving into the clinch.
Carter wants a takedown.
Freeman tries to break the clinch but Carter is controlling the position.
Carter fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Freeman tries to stall but Carter uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Carter blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Carter wants the takedown. Freeman is fighting it off but Carter persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Freeman's guard against the cage.
Freeman doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Freeman wants to stand and escape but Carter is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Freeman counters with a series of strikes. Carter will be more careful next time no doubt.

Freeman connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Carter momentarily.

Freeman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Carter is looking to stand up but Freeman isn't so interested in that idea.
Freeman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Carter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Carter tries to get out of the position.

Carter turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Carter manages to end up in side control.

Carter stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Freeman swats away the attempt to clinch by Carter.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Carter counters with a nice double leg into side control. Freeman won't be happy with that.

A lull in the action here.
Carter's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
