Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Takashi Katsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomasz Drwal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drwal has chosen Nightwish Crimson Tide as his entrance music. Takashi Katsumoto has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Takashi Katsumoto!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tomasz Drwal!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Katsumoto shoots in but no luck this time.
Jab from Drwal.
Katsumoto circles away from the clinch attempt.
Katsumoto is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Katsumoto tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Drwal manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Katsumoto dives in and grabs Drwal's left leg, looking for a takedown. Drwal pushes down on Katsumoto's head and hops out.
Drwal scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Katsumoto shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Drwal sprawls well. Drwal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Katsumoto gets slowly back to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Katsumoto has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Katsumoto sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Drwal is trying to escape the mount.
Katsumoto lands a couple of good shots and Drwal has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Katsumoto thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Katsumoto wants to control but Drwal is keeping busy.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Katsumoto lands a shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Drwal ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Katsumoto moves away.
Takashi Katsumoto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Katsumoto closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Drwal's guard.

Drwal controls Katsumoto momentarily but Katsumoto frees himself.
Drwal is looking to stand up but Katsumoto isn't so interested in that idea.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls for Drwal to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Takashi Katsumoto will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Tomasz Drwal looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'POZDRAWIAM WSZYSTKICH POLAKÓW I MAMEDA KHALIDOVA. '.
In defeat, Takashi Katsumoto stepped up to the mic, saying 'I want an immediate rematch! I slipped but it won't happen again!'.
