PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Lisser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francois Duvalier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duvalier has chosen Haitian National Anthem as his entrance music. Matt Lisser is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Matt Lisser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Francois Duvalier!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice jab there from Duvalier.


It looks like Matt Lisser has been cut.
Lisser throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Duvalier sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Duvalier's coach down at CW's Elite Kung-Fu Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Duvalier's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Lisser fails with the takedown.

Duvalier lands a big uppercut and Lisser crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Lisser looks OK. Duvalier waves Lisser back to his feet!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Duvalier looks to land a right hand but Lisser moved out of range.

Lisser shoots in and bounces Duvalier off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lisser with a flurry of punches that miss.
Lisser is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Duvalier is trying to control the position but Lisser postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Duvalier can do anything to dispel that myth.

Matt Lisser has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Lisser takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Francois Duvalier is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Duvalier throws a series of punches but Lisser moves out of range.
Lisser shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Duvalier as he jumps to the side.
Lisser tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Duvalier swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matt Lisser. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Duvalier tries to bum rush Lisser with a series of wild strikes but Lisser uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lisser tries to score a power double leg takedown but Duvalier sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lisser somewhat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Duvalier throws a body punch but Lisser moves out of range.
Lisser shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Duvalier pinned against the cage. Duvalier gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Duvalier throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Matt Lisser's cut is getting worse.
Duvalier tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lisser paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Duvalier displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lisser.

Lisser escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Duvalier lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lisser circles away quickly and effectively.

Lisser looking to score a takedown here. Duvalier is defending well but Lisser drives through and ends up in Duvalier's guard.
Lisser not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Lisser makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Duvalier really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lisser. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lisser stands up over Duvalier, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Duvalier wants to stand but Lisser is controlling the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lisser throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Duvalier works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Lisser lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Duvalier falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Matt Lisser!
Matt Lisser decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
