The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Varona blocks a head kick by Daniels.
Daniels tries to clinch there but Varona circles away.
Daniels looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Daniels misses with a wild combination.
Daniels will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Daniels lands a jab.

It looks like Carlos Varona has been cut.

Varona shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Varona was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Varona has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Daniels is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Varona yanks on the arm and Daniels is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Varona.
