Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Carlton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Don Carlton!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jackson throws a push kick but Carlton slaps the foot to one side.
Jackson misses with a takedown attempt

and Carlton counters with a takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Carlton remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Carlton works to advance to full mount. Jackson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Carlton lands a big elbow.


It looks like Andrew Jackson has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jackson is trying to stand up.
Carlton looking to control but Jackson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Carlton jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jackson manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carlton cracks Jackson with a big elbow.
Carlton has knee on belly and moves into mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carlton landing strikes from the mount and Jackson is in trouble!

Carlton wants to finish this one by submission but Jackson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Carlton.

Carlton is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jackson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jackson shrugs it off.

Andrew Jackson's cut is getting worse.
Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carlton on the ground.
Jackson tries to lock up and control but Carlton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Carlton working for a guillotine from mount but Jackson is in no mood to give up.
Carlton looking to control and managing it successfully.
Carlton pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.


Andrew Jackson's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Andrew Jackson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Don Carlton!
