Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Igor Zanta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jackson throws a head kick but Zanta moves out of range.
Zanta ducks under a wild hook from Jackson.
Zanta moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Jackson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Jackson misses with a lunging right hand
and Zanta connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jackson throws a lazy body kick
and Zanta counters with a stiff right hand.
Zanta tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jackson throws a half hearted mid kick.
Jackson drops Zanta with a nice combination! Jackson dives into Zanta's guard, looking to finish!
It looks like Igor Zanta has been cut.
Zanta is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Zanta pushes Jackson off and gets back to his feet.
An inside leg kick from Jackson misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Zanta to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Zanta just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Peter Jackson!
