Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Captain America (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). America 's entrance music is Captain America . A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
America fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from America is defended easily by Gonzales .
America circles away from the clinch attempt.
America closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gonzales to the mat! Gonzales manages to get full guard.
America in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Gonzales really doesn't want to stay on the ground with America . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
America cracks Gonzales with a solid left hand.
Gonzales avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gonzales is trying to keep America in close.
America distracts Gonzales with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
America passes Gonzales 's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
America missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Gonzales wants to get back to his feet.
America looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
America lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Gonzales has hold of America 's hands but America slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
America is looking for a kimura here.
America seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Gonzales has recovered full guard.
America lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
America landing with the ground and pound.
This has been an exciting period of action!
America stands up over Gonzales , holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gonzales is trying to control the position from the bottom.

America decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gonzales , up you get!
America fails with a takedown attempt.

America bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Gonzales is looking for a sweep.

America decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Gonzales is looking to clinch.

America dives in and grabs Gonzales 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gonzales pushes down on America 's head and hops out.
America looking to score a takedown here. Gonzales is defending well but America drives through and ends up in Gonzales 's guard.
Gonzales looking for a sweep. Not yet Gonzales , not yet.
Gonzales looks winded!
America cracks Gonzales with a solid left hand.
America stands and steps away. Gonzales gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
America shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gonzales counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
America will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Gonzales has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing America to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Gonzales is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - America pulls down on the head and he's put Gonzales to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Captain America !
Captain America retains his super heavyweight title!
After the fight, Captain America was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
