Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Liddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddel is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Campeão, Vencedor. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Liddel!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Liddel scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Liddel parries the strikes from Jones easily there. Jones is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Liddel to escape.

Liddel tries to escape but Jones is in control.

John Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Liddel is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Liddel can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace.

Liddel is sitting in close to Jones's body. Jones has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Liddel is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Liddel is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Jones.
