The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tait could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Tait lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Santiago circles away quickly and effectively.

Tait tries to bum rush Santiago with a series of wild strikes but Santiago uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Santiago fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tait.

No joy there for Tait, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Tait looks to land a combination but Santiago avoids it well.

and Santiago connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Santiago thows a body shot but no joy.

Santiago feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Santiago controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Tait might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Tait is trying to keep Santiago in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Tait is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Tait throws out a leg kick but Santiago moves out of range and Tait only half commits.

Tait gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Santiago lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Santiago engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Tait controls Santiago momentarily but Santiago frees himself.

Santiago is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Santiago is pushing down on Tait's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tait is fighting to maintain full guard but Santiago has managed to sneak the leg through.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Alex Santiago showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alex Santiago wasn't active enough on the ground.

Santiago bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Tait tries to improve position but can't.
Solomon Tait has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Tait is trying to escape the position but Santiago is controlling the position.

Santiago is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tait is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Tait gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Santiago to score an easy takedown into full guard.
