PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sub Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sub Zero!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karl Thomas!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zero throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Zero misses with a wild body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thomas. Zero does a little dance to reset his feet.

Zero is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Thomas's half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Zero throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Zero is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Thomas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Zero.
Zero tries to pass the half guard into mount. Thomas knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zero prevents Thomas from improving his position.
Zero throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Zero wants to free his trapped foot but Thomas is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Zero throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Thomas to regain full guard.
Zero is looking to work some ground and pound but Thomas has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zero seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Thomas trying to keep a closed guard but Zero is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zero trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Thomas keeping moving, preventing Zero from controlling successfully.
Zero throwing strikes but missing.

Zero trying to control but Thomas is working from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Thomas fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Zero.
Zero fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thomas avoids it really well and circles away.
An inside leg kick from Zero misses.
Zero blocks a head kick by Thomas.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Thomas.
No luck for Zero with that takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Zero throws a head kick but Thomas moves out of range.
Thomas is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Zero tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thomas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zero somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sub Zero. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thomas swings for the body but Zero moves out of range.
Zero throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Thomas pivots, looking for a leg kick but Zero is out of range and Thomas settles back down.
Thomas getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thomas misses with a body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Thomas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Zero fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Thomas checks it well.
Thomas throws a body punch but Zero moves out of range.
Zero throws a head kick that Thomas semi-blocks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sub Zero dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Zero.
Thomas pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Thomas lands a high kick!
Karl Thomas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Oooooh!!! Thomas has knocked Zero down with a huge combo! Thomas steps away and waves a wobbly Zero back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Zero is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thomas connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Oh Zero is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Thomas lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Thomas with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Zero attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Zero misses with a body shot.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Thomas, right into the meat.
Thomas throws a quick head kick that knocks Zero silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Thomas is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Karl Thomas!
Karl Thomas is the new middleweight champion!
