PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ken Dietrich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jah Fire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fire is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Never. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ken Dietrich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jah Fire!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dietrich has a takedown stuffed.
Fire tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Dietrich counters with a head kick. That will keep Fire thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Dietrich throws a right and a left that Fire avoids nicely.
Dietrich throws a sloppy head kick and Fire moves out of range easily.
Fire throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Dietrich has managed to clinch.
Dietrich working hard to break the clinch.
Fire is trying to maintain a safe position but Dietrich gets an underhook and turns Fire into the cage.
Fire lands a knee to the body.
Dietrich looking to slow down the pace here.
Dietrich is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Fire is defending well.
Fire throws a knee to the head but misses.
Fire is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Dietrich is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Fire pulls him back up using the underhooks.

The referee is keeping an eye on Fire - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Dietrich really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dietrich has Fire pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fire manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Dietrich is rocked!
Fire prevents the takedown attempt.
Fire lands a good knee to the midsection. Dietrich won't want to take too many of those.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Dietrich as Fire tries to tie him up.

Oh Dietrich is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Fire is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Dietrich seems to have got his legs back now.
Fire creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Dietrich's defenses.
Fire comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Dietrich wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fire has him pressed against the cage.

Fire connects with a nasty looking knee right to Dietrich's face.

Fire will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Dietrich up against the cage.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Fire has Dietrich pushed against the cage.
Dietrich has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fire avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jah Fire dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


The fight stays on the outside here - Fire looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dietrich is defended easily by Fire.
Nice sprawl there from Fire as Dietrich shoots in.
Ken Dietrich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dietrich shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fire as he jumps to the side.

Horrible takedown by Dietrich or perhaps it was just good defense by Fire which made him look bad.

Fire swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Fire slaps away a takedown attempt from Dietrich, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Dietrich looks for a takedown but Fire sprawls well.
Fire tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Fire swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dietrich ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Fire is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Fire ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Fire throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
No luck for Dietrich with that takedown attempt.
Dietrich keeps the fight on the outside.

Fire tries to clinch but Dietrich is having none of it.
Dietrich closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fire circles away.
Dietrich uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Fire.
Fire tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dietrich was well out of range. Poor timing from Fire.
Dietrich closes the distance and clinches up with Fire, looking for a takedown. Dietrich pushes Fire against the cage but Fire circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fire loads up on a big right hand but Dietrich slips the punch.

Fire tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dietrich was well out of range. Poor timing from Fire.

Fire is pushing Dietrich up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

A short body shot lands from Fire as the two fighters clinch.
Dietrich is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Fire is defending well.
Fire lands an elbow inside.
Fire gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Fire lands a knee to the head.
Jah Fire seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Fire has Dietrich pressed against the cage.
Fire comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Knees to the body from Fire.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jah Fire showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Dietrich is trying to drag Fire to the mat but Fire just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Fire stalls.
Dietrich wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fire has him pressed against the cage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Fire gets underhooks to prevent Dietrich's takedown attempt.
Fire lands an elbow just above Dietrich 's eye.
Fire avoiding damage.
Fire lands an elbow inside.
Fire landing knees to the body.

Dietrich breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jah Fire is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dietrich takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Fire is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Dietrich rather than just go for the knockout.
Fire drops Dietrich with a huge uppercut! Dietrich drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Fire is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jah Fire!
