Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Jiang Shi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Kuiper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jiang Shi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam Kuiper!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuiper tries to keep at a distance but Shi has taken the fight into the clinch.
Shi connects with a knee to the head.
It looks like Sam Kuiper has been cut.
Kuiper is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Shi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kuiper clinches.
Kuiper has had enough of the clinch but Shi keeps him there for the moment.
Shi scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Shi prevents Kuiper from breaking the clinch.
Kuiper tries to break the clinch but Shi is controlling the position.
Kuiper's coach down at Soul Supremacy Fight Club - ELITE TRAINERS----$580 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kuiper's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Kuiper wants to break free but Shi has control.
Shi lands a damaging elbow.
Shi manages to break the clinch.
Kuiper gets a clinch.
Nice elbow from Shi.
A body shot lands from Shi.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shi comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Kuiper misses with a knee to the head.
Kuiper looks winded!
Shi lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kuiper backwards.
That has opened up Sam Kuiper's cut even more.

I was talking to Shi's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Shi lands on the inside with an uppercut.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Shi.
Shi utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Shi is working Kuiper over against the ropes.
Shi creates a bit of space and fires a knee right up the middle, almost lifting Kuiper off his feet and sending him crashing to the canvas! Kuiper is trying to get back to his feet but his equilibrium is completely gone! The referee has called it off! This fight is over! Shi is jumping up and down like a mad man, celebrating with his cornermen.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Jiang Shi!
